Takeaway that logo design its offensive

An Indian takeaway called Handi Ghandi has recently changed its logo design to placate one of Gandhi’s great-grandsons who is already fuming over the use of his family name to sell curries.

The business has now changed its logo from one of Gandhi holding a takeaway box to a much less obvious looking image of an Indian male.

Sensing the potential backlash that their logo could have created they have however overlooked the fact that beef is considered sacred by Hindus. Beef curry being associated with Gandhi’s name is likely to be seen by many Hindus as raising a red rag to a bull. If you want publicity for your new logo design then this may not be one of the best ways to get it!
