The Lacoste logo of a Crocodile has managed to fight off an attack from a Singapore firm called Crocodile International Pte Ltd. The Lacoste logo design was registered in 1933 in France and is an internationally recognised symbol. Lucky for them a ruling in a lower court was overturned or else they may have had some rebranding issues in China.
Any company considering an international brand will need to look very carefully at the options available to them and whether or not they can use their logo in all countries they intend to trade in.
