Students of my Life Casting Courses, which includes how to cast baby hands and feet, often ask me, How to Cast a Dogs Paw? Or,  How to Cast a Dog Paw Prints?

The process of Casting a Baby's hand and Feet, is almost identical to the process of how to make a cast of a dog paw, just with a few tiny differences.  These differences are due to the fact that dogs have fur, unlike Babies and alginate sticks to hair and fur, therefore it is necessary to apply a release agent to the dogs fur, to act as a barrier and prevent the alginate from sticking to the dogs fur.

I have tried many different forms of release agent, including vaseline, olive oil and lots more, but this this Cholesterol Hair Conditioner is 100% the best release agent that  I have ever found for paw casting, or when casting animals.  In my own experience and hundres of my students, it has been 100% reliable in helping to prevent fur from sticking to alginate when Paw Casting.
